Good things tend to happen when the New England Patriots feed running back Ezekiel Elliott.
That was the case in the third quarter of Sunday’s game against the Denver Broncos, when quarterback Bailey Zappe connected with Elliott on a short pass that was taken to the house.
Elliott showed he still has plenty of juice left in his veteran legs by leapfrogging a Broncos defender and diving his way into the end zone for the Patriots’ first touchdown of the game.
New England needs all of the help they can get with Rhamondre Stevenson out with a high ankle sprain. Elliott has stepped up in a big way to provide a spark for the team on the ground and through the air.

The Patriots will need more of this effort from Elliott to overcome a dogfight with the Broncos at Mile High.
