The Minnesota Vikings are a little over a week into the training camp process, and linebacker Eric Kendricks is already flying around and making plays like he’s in midseason form.
Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins didn’t even see him coming as he rumbled across the middle of the field and made a spectacular diving interception grab in Monday’s first padded practice.
It’s a wonder Cousins couldn’t hear the cleats coming because the 30-year-old linebacker was pounding dirt to make the play. For anyone doubting the intensity of training camp, just look at Kendricks show off his playmaking ability.
That sideline-to-sideline speed is still very much there.

It’s an important season for Kendricks, who will be entering the final year of his contract in 2023.
If this win-now experiment fails for the Vikings, there’s a chance the team could opt to move off some of their key veteran players, including Kendricks.
So this could end up being the season for the former All-Pro linebacker to remind the rest of the NFL world why he’s still an elite player at his position.
