Watch: Ecstatic Team India's victory celebrations after clinching fourth junior Asia Cup title

NEW DELHI: As a dominant India defeated Pakistan 2-1 in the final to lay hands on junior hockey Asia Cup title for the fourth time, celebrations were in full swing for the men-in-blue after the thrilling win over the arch-rivals in Oman on Thursday.

Maintaining their continental supremacy, India remained undefeated throughout the competition and the win over Pakistan in the final made the title triumph even more special.

After being crowned the champions, an ecstatic Uttam Singh and co. were seen enjoying their success to the fullest in front of a full-house arena.

Angad Bir Singh (13th minute) and Araijeet Singh Hundal (20th) scored the two first-half goals for India in the final while Abdul Basharat (37th) was the lone goal scorer for Pakistan.

India had previously won the titles in 2004, 2008 and 2015.

After being crowned champions, coach CR Kumar said the win in the final was a good team effort.

"It came down to executing our opportunities. Though I feel we could have scored a few more goals, when you are playing a big opponent like Pakistan there is a lot of pressure. But I am very happy with the way the players controlled their emotions and played to their potential," Kumar said.
