If you haven’t been paying attention, former Ohio State guard Duane Washington is having some moments in the NBA. He went undrafted in the 2021 NBA draft but got an invite from the Pacers and signed a deal, where he has elbowed his way into some playing time at the highest level. That in itself is commendable because it’s awfully hard to break into the NBA without getting drafted.
And now, he just set a franchise record with the Indiana Pacers and you can probably guess what it is. During his time at Ohio State, Washington was awfully streaking and frustrated coaches and fans alike with his decision-making and quick trigger, but when he was on, he could carry the Buckeyes. He nearly took OSU to a Big Ten Tournament title last season.
Washington got hot again on Monday night against the New Orleans Pelicans. Washington filled it up, hitting more 3-pointers than any player in New Orleans history when hit nailed seven total. Watch the highlights of each bomb Washington hit thanks to the Indiana Pacers official Twitter account.

Washington is averaging 8.1 points, 1.4 rebounds, and 1.8 assists on 18.9 minutes per game so far for the Pacers this year. Maybe this game will be a further springboard for him becoming even more of a weapon for the Pacers.
