WATCH: Dolphins’ Tua Tagovailoa opens up about finding himself in Miami

Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has been performing at an MVP level this season, as he’s leading the league in yards (1,876), touchdowns (14) and passer rating (114.1) with a career-high 71.1% completion percentage.

However, Tagovailoa has been through some tough times in the NFL back in 2020, including injuries and demanding coaches.

Prior to Sunday night’s battle with the Philadelphia Eagles, Tagovailoa spoke with NBC Sports’ Michael Smith about finding himself as a person, leader and quarterback over the last couple of seasons.

It’s great to see just how comfortable the former Crimson Tide quarterback has become under Mike McDaniel’s leadership. As he said, he can mesh the person he is away from the field with the quarterback and leader he is when he’s with the team.

That comfort is part of the reason that Tagovailoa has seeing that success in the last two seasons. Now, he just needs to help the team win in the postseason.
