It’s not every week you see a 6-foot-5, 320-pound defensive tackle come up with an interception. And it’s definitely not every week you see a 6-foot-5, 320-pound defensive tackle come up with an interception off another player’s head.
Well, that happened this afternoon—for Carolina Panthers standout defender Derrick Brown. Brown not only batted a pass from New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr, but he ended up catching it . . . off center Cesar Ruiz’s dome.

Brown has been one of the very few bright spots for the Panthers during this incredibly rough campaign. He came into the Week 14 matchup with 64 combined tackles—just three off the career-high 67 takedowns he posted last year.
Those 67 tackles were also a franchise record for the most by a defensive tackle in a single season, a mark previously held by Kawann Short. Brown had surpassed that as well by halftime.
Oh, and he also did this . . .
