WATCH: Conor McGregor shows off sapphire-encrusted Rolex which he calls 'tasty'

Conor McGregor is at it again as he flaunted his latest audacious purchase in the form of a sapphire-encrusted Rolex watch.

In a video he shared with social media followers, he called it a 'tasty timepiece'.

Fans were split on the video with some lapping it up. One joked: "That thing looks like it will take you to another dimension."

While another chimed in with: "Love it" followed by a bunch of laughing emojis.

However, for as much as the former two-weight world champion went on about 'tasty number one and two', plenty of commentators felt it was pretty tasteless to be bragging about such a frivolous purchase.

One replied: "Dude we're all very proud for you... You earned all the watches you like...

"However with all the families struggling right now JUST TO EAT... Maybe relax on the flex and enjoy life and celebrate it with your family. This is getting old."

Similarly, another person added: "Conor? The people admire you because what you did in the cage. No one cares about how rich you are and how many possessions you have. Back to be humble please."

Lastly, someone else said: "Yawn. Win a fight."

McGregor is of course currently recuperating from a devastating broken leg which occurred in his last bout in July of last year.

It is believed that his rehab has taken longer than expected as he has still not returned to full MMA training.

Highly respected MMA journalist Ariel Helwani recently claimed that he has heard we won't see the UFC's biggest star back in the octagon until 2023.

Speaking on his show last month, he said: “Last I heard, by the way, Conor could come back February, March or so," Helwani told fans in a blow to the hopes that he could compete again this year.

"It doesn’t look like he’s coming back in 2022. So now, here you have a guy who hasn’t fought since July of last year."

He later added: "There’s no guarantee that he’s coming back tomorrow, next month, the month after that, and the last I heard was early 2023. There’s no rush here, as there shouldn’t be a rush because he’s coming back from such a gruesome and serious injury.”
