Rookie running back Deneric Prince has become a player to watch in the Kansas City Chiefs preseason games after turning in consistently exceptional performances at the team’s training camp workouts in St. Joseph. His unique blend of size, speed, agility, and pass-catching ability has endeared him to teammates since practices at Missouri Western State University opened in late July, and it seems that some members of the Chiefs’ roster have decided to give him an interesting nickname.

It seems that Prince’s penchant for catching balls while running “rail” routes on the practice field has earned him the moniker of “Derail”, which his fellow running backs have taken to calling him during workouts. This hilarious pseudonym was revealed on the latest episode of “The Franchise” after a nifty catch during a recent workout got Isiah Pacheco, Jerick McKinnon, and Clyde Edwards-Helaire fired up on the sideline.
Watch for Prince to continue standing out over the course of Kansas City’s preseason schedule, especially when called upon to catch passes on these “rail” routes.
