Patrick Mahomes didn’t waste any time getting in rhythm against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 17 after hitting star running back Isiah Pacheco for a touchdown on the Kansas City Chiefs’ first offensive possession.
The seven-point score came after a grueling drive that saw Pacheco take three carries for 46 yards to help set Kansas City up in the red zone. Then, on a third and goal with just over three minutes left in the first quarter, Mahomes hit Pacheco with a perfect pass in the end zone to give the Chiefs an early lead.

In a game where Andy Reid is looking to simplify his offense against Kansas City’s bitter playoff rival, plays like this can help the Chiefs build momentum after a brutal five-game stretch where the team nearly lost its grip on the AFC West lead.
Expect Reid to continue getting Mahomes some easy reads as Kansas City seeks its tenth win of the 2023 season.
