Kansas City Chiefs DT Chris Jones and Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Tom Brady shared a cool moment at the conclusion of the Week 4 game.
In the trailer for the Paramount Plus series “Inside the NFL” we got to see some true sportsmanship in action. You wouldn’t think that Jones and Brady get along too well given their previous interactions over the years, namely with the two getting in each other’s faces and talking some trash. As it turns out, they’re just two fiery competitors who live for that type of stuff.
Jones sought out Brady after the game, knowing this might be the last time he gets to match up against the 45-year-old quarterback.
“Brady, helluva game, man,” Jones said.
“Good game, Chris,” Brady responded.
“Hey, if this is your last time, I enjoyed you, man,” Jones said.
“Thanks. I feel the same way, brother,” Brady said. “We’ve always had a lot of fun together, haven’t we?”
It’s a little ironic that this interaction comes a week after Jones was penalized and fined by the NFL for talking some trash with Indianapolis Colts QB Matt Ryan. Football is a passionate and heated game, both Jones and Brady recognize it and have embraced that during the times that they matched up against each other. Even with those moments in the past, there are clearly no hard feelings between the two and nothing but mutual respect and admiration.
