Kansas City Chiefs defensive back Kahlef Hailassie came down with an incredible interception against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday that helped turn the momentum back in his team’s favor in the third quarter.

The high-flying pick was a welcome sign of life for Kansas City’s defense, which seemed to be gasping for breath against New Orleans’ second and third-team offenses. Hailassie has been an unsung hero of the Chiefs’ defense in training camp but faces long odds to make Kansas City’s 53-man roster at the end of the preseason.

Plays like this will certainly help his effort to make the final cut, though, and other teams are sure to take notice of his elite athleticism after this interception. Watch for Hailassie to get more involved in the Chiefs’ defense in the coming weeks as he looks to make his name known around NFL circles ahead of the 2023 regular season.
