Jordan Whittington has been the star of the preseason for the Los Angeles Rams, leading the team in receiving through two games. He’s looked like a starting-caliber receiver and has already earned recognition from Sean McVay as someone who’s going to “be a factor” this season.
NFL analyst Brian Baldinger recently highlighted Whittington in his latest breakdown video on Twitter, saying no one should be surprised that the Rams found another late-round gem at wide receiver after Puka Nacua’s emergence last year.
“Is anybody surprised that the Rams are finding players like this?” Baldinger said. “If you don’t get this guy down, he’s a rabbit now. He just keeps going. We saw this from that guy last year named Puka. This position of the Rams and what Eric Yarber does, the wide receivers coach, whether it’s Cooper (Kupp), whether it’s Nacua. And who knows? Maybe it’s going to be Whittington.”

In two preseason games, Whittington has an NFL-high 11 receptions, while also ranking fourth with 126 yards. He hasn’t scored a touchdown yet, but his impact on offense has been undeniable.
It’s early, but Whittington looks the part of an NFL player and his intangibles off the field are outstanding, too. His work ethic and football IQ are what drew the Rams to him in the sixth round of the draft.
Baldinger is high on Whittington entering the 2024 season and fans should be, too.
