Thousands across the UK are getting ready to witness the world-famous Blackpool Illuminations be switched on tonight.
This year the event will be held in association with MTV and will feature live music performances from a variety of artists in the iconic ballroom. The line-up includes Grammy Award and three-time Mobo rap star Fuse ODG as well as Mae Muller, Nina Nesbitt, Tom Grennan and Blue.
While it was originally announced that Johnny Vegas would have the honour of pulling the famous switch to kick off the Illuminations season, the actor and comedian has been forced to cancel due to unforeseen personal circumstances. It is expected that thousands of visitors will flood the seaside city to witness the Illuminations switch on.

However, if you are unable to make it you don't have to completely miss out as you can watch the switch on live via the MTV Youtube link above.
Tonight's Tower Ballroom will also be live-streamed on a huge screen on the nearby Tower Festival Headland. Cllr Lynn Williams, Leader of Blackpool Council, said: “As always, there has been an overwhelming demand for tickets for the annual Switch-On concert.
"Over the past two years, we have been able to give people who couldn’t get tickets the opportunity to watch the show and switch-on moment in their own homes via a live stream. This year, we are delighted to be able to announce that there will also be an opportunity for residents and visitors to join in the party atmosphere with that live stream being shown on the headland opposite The Blackpool Tower.
"Last year, thousands of people turned out on that headland just to see the lights come on. The screening of the show will give them the chance to be part of what is a uniquely special occasion."
