Watch as Scott McTominay nets twice to keep Napoli’s title charge alive

A Scott McTominay double helped keep Napoli’s title hopes alive as they closed the gap on league leaders Inter to three points on Monday night.

A crucial 3-0 win over second-bottom Empoli at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona saw the Azzurri extend their unbeaten home league run to seven matches.

And it was Scotland international Scott McTominay who opened the scoring after just 18 minutes with a sumptuous strike from 25 yards out.

The midfielder's ex-Manchester United teammate Romelu Lukaku fired in from close range to double the hosts’ advantage in the second half.

Five minutes later, the former United duo linked up as McTominay headed home from Lukaku’s pinpoint cross to bag his eighth Serie A goal in his debut season in Italy.

Antonio Conte’s men now have 68 points after 32 matches while table toppers Inter Milan sit on 71.

Just six league games remain in what is set to be an enthralling end to the season as the sides battle it out for the Scudetto.
