Watch as Rangers hero Ally McCoist interviews Prince William

A big smile beamed from Ally McCoist's face last night, as the Rangers legend gladly accepted the opportunity to interview Prince William live on TV.

Ahead of Aston Villa's Champions League quarter-final tie in Paris against PSG, the former Gers and Scotland striker was afforded around five minutes with The Prince of Wales.

The Royal is an avid Aston Villa fan and is regularly spotted attending games. He was alongside his son, George, last night.

As part of TNT Sports' coverage, they were able to interview Prince William inside the Parc des Princes tunnel, as he stood alongside McCoist and Rio Ferdinand.

“I’ve got to say we are absolutely delighted to be joined this evening by His Royal Highness," McCoist said. "First of all, are you as nervous as we are?”

The future King replied: “I am Ally. I’m pretty terrified.

"It’s been a while coming this, so it’s a big game. I’m nervous but also confident and excited.”

Unai Emery's side would score the opening goal in the game, with John McGinn winning the ball back high up the pitch.

The play switched to the left wing, where the ball was eventually sent to the back post, and Morgan Rogers tapped home for 1-0.

However, the hosts came back strong, running out 3-1 winners in the end to assert their dominance heading into next week's second leg in Birmingham.
