A SCOTTISH piper has taken social media by storm with their cover of Hot To Go leaving fans in stitches.
The short clip of the piper covering Chappell Roan’s anthem, which was a global hit last year, has gone viral on social media.
Posted on Instagram the cover of Hot To Go outside the National Piping Centre in Glasgow has racked up an impressive 11,000 likes already in just one day.
The video is a short skit of the viral “I hope she plays” trend which rose in popularity on social media last year.
The clip starts with a girl saying, “I hope they play Hot To Go” before cutting to a guy who replies “Hannah, this is the National Piping Centre”.
The video then cuts to a pan of the centre with a piper standing in the doorway playing the chorus of the beloved pop tune while a man can be heard laughing in the background.
In the caption posted along with the video, it said “I hope the NPC doesn’t bring back old trends” with a sad face emoji.
However, we at The National are very happy to see this vital trend revitalised with piping – and we are not alone!
One person commented, “where’s the full cover” accompanied by a bunch of exclamation marks and fire emojis.
While another said: “I haven't Highland danced in five years, it came back disturbingly quick.”
As a third added: “Chappell Roan does a lil piping too.”
A fourth person said: “Imagine renting a flat next to that". We agree – how lucky they must be getting all those free tunes!
NPC proves that you can improve even the biggest pop songs with the addition of some bagpipes.
