Grinning Alistair Johnston tried to play peacemaker as he confronted Celtic team-mate Cameron Carter-Vickers during a fierce exchange in Canada's win over the USA.
The Celtic full-back could be seen trying to defuse tensions during the CONCACAF Nations League third play play-off match on Sunday evening.
Carter-Vickers was left furious over the reaction to a challenge from Gio Reyna on Canada's Jacob Shaffelburg.

The Celtic centre-back was at the centre of the scuffle as he angrily exchanged words with rival players in the heated contest.
Carter-Vickers was embroiled in furious words with a trio of rival players before Johnston marched into the action and tried to lead his Celtic team-mate away.
Video footage of the incident even captures Johnston with a huge grin on his face as he attempted to calm down his defensive partner at club level.

Canada claimed a 2-1 victory in the contest which was fiercely contested after US President Donald Trump sparked fury by stating his desire to make Canada a 51st state.
Tani Oluwaseyi opened the scoring for Canada after 27 minutes. But the hosts would be pegged back just eight minutes later as Patrick Agyemang restore parity.
Jonathan David netted the winner for Canada just before the hourmark.
Both Johnston and Carter-Vickers played the entirety of the match.
