Since then, Bartley has played for Swansea City, Birmingham and Leeds United. He is now at West Bromwich Albion where he captained the side this afternoon.
There was major late drama at the Hawthorns in the 2-1 win for West Brom.
Adam Armstrong fired the hosts ahead after 74 minutes but Callum Paterson levelled the scores three minutes into stoppage time.
West Brom, though, would claim victory with a winner in the 96th minute as Jayson Molumby fired home.

The hosts held on to claim the victory and three points but the drama wasn't over with Bartley then shown a straight red card.
Bartley marched towards rival Svante Ingelsson and appeared to connect with the Sheffield Wednesday player's face as he joined an on-field rammy.
Furious Wednesday players felt matchwinner Molumby had been goading them after his late strike prompting outrage as Ingelsson confronted the West Brom player.
Captain Bartley then steamed into the situation and pushed Ingelsson in the face with his arm.
Referee Tom Nield quickly produced a red card for Bartley after the final whistle for his involvement in the unsavoury scenes.
