WATCH: Are the Boston Celtics using Marcus Smart the right way?

Are the Boston Celtics using their starting point guard the right way? In season after season, we get hints that veteran guard Marcus Smart will finally get to play his natural position as a floor general after repeated instances of the Flower Mound native finding out the head coach would prefer to treat him as a shooting guard instead

And with the arrival of Dennis Schroder on a bargain deal this season, that pattern seems to be repeating itself — is this costing the Celtics wins with how Smart is being used? There’s a legitimate case to be made that the Texan guard is not having his strengths magnified by his current organization.

The hosts of the CLNS Media “Celtics Beat” podcast got together with former ESPN writer Seth Landmann to talk about how they think Smart ought to be used with this team, and how to use that in turn to maximize what the team does well.

Watch the clip embedded above to hear what they have to say on how the longest-tenured Celtic is being used, and whether there are tweaks that can improve things for the future.
