WATCH: Aaron Rodgers calls Patriots special teamer Matthew Slater a Hall of Famer

New England Patriots special teams legend Matthew Slater has achieved a rare level of success that is respected by players throughout the NFL, including legendary quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

On-field cameras caught an interaction between the New York Jets’ signal-caller and Slater in the Patriots’ regular season finale. Rodgers, who many consider one of the top-five greatest quarterbacks of all time, asked Slater if he planned to continue playing.

When Slater told him no, Rodgers called him a “Hall of Famer.”

Few could argue with that sentiment considering Slater is a three-time Super Bowl champion, 10-time Pro Bowler and eight-time All-Pro player.

Special teams players are rarely given the respect they deserve as one of the key units in a football game. But Slater left a glowing resume that is simply too great to ignore.
