Watch a thoughtful customer turn these UPS drivers from fed-up to grateful

Oftentimes, the first reaction to an unfavorable experience we see online is an angry rant or a social media "call-out." But one person has proven that sometimes, an empathetic approach is a better way to go.

Auto enthusiast and musician OKQ posted a TikTok video in June showing a series of delivery drivers getting pretty rough with his packages. At the end of what looks to be a long, downward-sloping driveway, his porch camera frequently caught drivers tossing and slamming packages around.

Instead of reacting in anger, OKQ identified with what they might be feeling. "I decided to go get some ice, get some water, get some crackers, and we're gonna leave them some snacks and water since it's probably hot, they're probably frustrated."

The result? Drivers took the goodies and expressed gratitude for the gesture. And according to delivery-driving commenters,  everybody likes a good "thank you" for doing a difficult job.

And delivering packages is definitely not for the faint of heart. In the last few years, consumers have become exponentially more reliant on the delivery of goods. Front-porch delivery service has exploded against the recent backdrop of record heat waves and increasing inflation. Delivery drivers for couriers UPS and Amazon threatened to go on strike over issues including pay raises, benefits, and working conditions.
