Washington County, PA Expects High Voter Turnout

Mail-in votes for Washington County, Pennsylvania, are expected to be posted shortly after polls close at 8:00 p.m. ET, according to Washington County Commissioner Nick Sherman. More than 33,000 mail-in ballots were sent out in Washington County, with almost 29,000 already received back and currently being scanned by officials.

Washington County, located south of Pittsburgh, has a total of 148,820 registered voters. At the two precincts where sources are located, over 1,670 voters have already cast their ballots. With more than 3,000 voters registered at this location, officials anticipate a late surge in voter turnout before polls close.

Some voters interviewed mentioned that they were voting for the first time, while others expressed that they might not have voted at all if Pennsylvania wasn't considered a tightly contested battleground state.
