The Washington Commanders entered the NFL Divisional round as the biggest underdogs of the weekend.
Somebody should have told them that as they went into the game looking and acting like they were favored to win.
Jayden Daniels further proved how special he is. Daniels went 22/31 for 299 passing yards, two passing TDs, and adding 51 rushing yards. Brian Robinson Jr had 77 rushing yards and two rushing TDs. Terry McLaurin had four catches, 87 receiving yards, and one receiving TD. Dyami Brown had six catches and 98 receiving yards. The Commanders had their way with Detroit’s defense.
Not only did Detroit’s defense struggle but their offense did as well. Despite scoring 31 points, the Lions turned the ball over five times while the Commanders did not turn the ball over. Jared Goff threw three interceptions and lost a fumble. Jameson Williams threw an interception on a trick play in the fourth quarter when Detroit was down 17. The playcalling was questionable in the game for Detroit. One has to wonder if OC Ben Johnson and DC Aaron Glenn had other things on their mind. Both had awful game plans.

Washington Commanders Have Tons Of Momentum Entering NFC Championship Game
After upsetting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the wild-card round, the Washington Commanders shocked the world by upsetting the heavily favored Detroit Lions.
Washington was the biggest underdog of the Divisional round but pulled off the upset with another excellent game by rookie sensation Jayden Daniels.
The Commanders are riding high into the NFC Championship game. Whether they face the Eagles or Rams, Washington has to feel good about their chances. Washington played Philly tough in both contests during the season, losing one game by eight points and defeating the Eagles in week 16 36-33. Jayden Daniels was special in the win against the Eagles.
The Commanders are a dangerous team with Jayden Daniels and he has completely turned around the organization.
Ben Johnson & Aaron Glenn Poised To Become Head Coaches: Where Do The Lions Go From Here?
Several teams looking for a new head coach are interested in both coordinators. The Lions are set to lose their offensive and defensive coordinators. They have been excellent and a big reason the Lions won 15 games during the season.
Detroit will need to promote guys under both coordinators to keep similar schemes.
One has to wonder if going on interviews and being ready to become a head coach had anything to do with how poor the Lions looked on defense and some of the questionable play-calling on offense.
Detroit is still in a good spot but potentially losing both coordinators could hurt the team next year.
