The Washington Commanders clinched a playoff berth with last week’s thrilling overtime victory over the Atlanta Falcons. Washington improved to 11-5 behind rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels’ second consecutive game-winning touchdown pass to defeat an NFC rival.
Commanders playoff picture
The Commanders not only clinched a playoff berth last week but, with Minnesota’s win over Green Bay, moved up to the NFC’s No. 6 seed. The Commanders previously held control of the No. 7 seed but were one game behind the Packers. Green Bay and Washington now have the same record. If both teams win on Sunday, the Commanders clinch the sixth seed.
The Packers host the Bears, losers of 10 straight games, at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday — the same time as Washington’s game at Dallas.
If the Commanders clinch the sixth seed by beating the Cowboys, they’ll play at the Los Angeles Rams or the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFC Wild Card round. If the Rams and Bucs win, Washington heads to L.A. If the Rams lose and Tampa Bay wins, then it’s Tampa. If the Bucs lose and the Atlanta Falcons win, the Commanders will head to Los Angeles, whether the Rams win or lose.
