Warzone 2 Season 4 is set to launch later on today, bringing a brand new DMZ and Resurgence map named Vondel to the game, with some extra balance adjustments.
As we all know by now Warzone 2 is struggling compared to its contemporaries, the newest update Warzone 2 Season 4 has players a bit more excited than usual with the launch of the brand new Amsterdam-based Vondel map Ahead of the new Warzone 2 update (or should we say Warzone now? As the game seems to have been rebranded with this new season) some details have leaked out which gives some key details not included in the previously released Warzone 2 Season 4 roadmap.
Here's the Warzone 2 Season 4 release time and all the latest content leaks.
Warzone 2 Season 4 update release time
The Warzone 2 Season 4 release time is set for 5pm BST / 12pm EDT / 9am PDT today, with the update launching simultaneously worldwide across all platforms.
Warzone 2 updates are typically available to preload first on PS5 and PS4, however, this doesn't seem to be the case as the preload for the update isn't live just yet at the time of writing. On PC, Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S updates tend to be available at 5pm BST / 12pm EDT / 9am PDT .
No file size has been confirmed just yet, however Warzone 2 Season 3 was 18.32GB so we'd wager its somewhere close to that, if not a bit bigger because of the new Vondel map.
Warzone 2 Season 4 leaked patch notes
According to Insider Gaming's Tom Henderson, Strongholds will be getting a major update in Warzone 2 Season 4. These changes include the following:
- The removal of AI
- Strongholds become active during Infil
- Enemy players will be able to see the UAV radius and can recapture the Stronghold
- Inactive Strongholds with White Supply Boxes are also highlighted on the TacMap
This change means you can now freely roam Strongholds without worrying about AI combatants shooting you in the back while you're capturing it, making the whole process far more worth it now that the biggest annoyance is gone.
Another contentious issue with Warzone 2 has been the time-to-kill something even pro players like Fifakill are upset about, luckily that same Insider Gaming scoop has great news on that front. Player health is set to be increased from 100 to 150, which brings the total player health up to 300 when players are kitted out with a full set of armour.
Finally the report says that a 'Rejoin' feature – which will let players join their game if they accidentally get disconnected – will roll out with the new season.
