Warzone 2 nuke Champion's Quest is open to all players but not everyone is happy about it

Ahead of Warzone 2 Season 4, Raven Software has announced that the Champion's Quest has been enabled for all Warzone 2 players.

Getting a nuke in Warzone used to be a time consuming affair; before you could even attempt to get the nuke you would have to perform the gargantuan task of winning five Warzone 2 matches in a row – a task even the sweatiest Call of Duty players would struggle with.

Completing this gruelling five win streak would award you with access to the Champion's Quest contract, which would then task you with collecting elements scattered around the map to build a nuke with the goal of blowing up Al Mazrah resulting in an instant battle royale win. Pulling off a nuke in-game isn't an easy feat, but you would get a bunch of goodies for doing so, including a skin, contracts, and a bunch of other cosmetics.

However, now, ahead of Warzone 2 Season 4 (or Warzone Season 4 with recent marketing suggesting the 2 has been dropped from the Warzone name) Raven Software has taken to Twitter to announce that starting now, all players – regardless of whether they pulled off the five win streak or not – have access to the Champion's Quest contract. Meaning nuke wins in Warzone 2 are about to become even more common.

Raven also said in the Tweet that "This week is your last chance to earn the current CQ rewards before they’re retired" which likely means a new Champion's Quest contract with different cosmetics and perhaps even different unlock conditions on the way alongside Warzone 2 Season 4.

Champions no longer

Understandably, players who put the effort in to get that five win streak to unlock the nuke are not happy with this change, with one player saying "L Move. This is not really fair for those who grinded the hell out of the 5 wins. The skin isn't worth any rarity anymore" In response to Raven Software's tweet. Another player added "nuke skin used to draw massive respect, and now that's gone. L move"

Granted, this move does make the nuke more accessible to the large majority of the playerbase, although perhaps there is a happier medium available – perhaps locking the skin or some other cosmetic to players who got the five wins in a row to keep that grind worth it for them.

Raven Software is set to introduce new Champion's Quest rewards next season, so perhaps player feedback over this move may play into the new batch of rewards.
