Warwick Davis has lent his support to daughter Annabelle as she makes her debut on Hollyoaks this week.
It was announced late last year that the daughter of actors Warwick and Samantha Davis was set to join the cast of Hollyoaks in early 2023 and she makes her Channel 4 soap debut this week.
The 25-year-old actress plays paralegal Lacey Lloyd, who is ‘driven, forthright and funny’, Holloaks said.
Lacey makes her entrance in the village of the Chester-based soap with her influencer best friend Rayne, played by Jemma Donovan.
The pair will soon become part of a new shared house with Romeo – played by I’m A Celebrity star Owen Warner – Prince (Malique Thompson Dwyer) and Nadira (Ashling O’Shea).
Proud father Warwick gave his daughter a shoutout on Twitter to celebrate the big moment in her career – but the Harry Potter star could not resist a cheeky dig at the show as he quipped he has never tuned into Hollyoaks before.
The actor wrote online: “Shout out to my daughter, Annabelle Davis who debuts in the British Soap, Hollyoaks tonight. Never seen the show but will be watching tonight!”
The character of Lacey will be “fiercely loyal and a great friend who brings the calm and common sense, whilst best friend Rayne brings the chaos”, Hollyoaks said.
Once settled, she will interview for a position at Dee Valley Law and will come under scrutiny from lawyer James Nightingale.
Anabelle said at the time of the announcement of her casting: “I’m so excited for you to meet Lacey! She’s fun, career driven, training to be a lawyer and now looking for a job. Fingers crossed she gets it.
“I’ve had a great time filming with the Hollyoaks gang and look forward to what Lacey gets up to.”
The actress is best known for her role as Sasha Bellman in children’s TV series The Dumping Ground and Mims Ufgood in new fantasy series Willow.
Davis is also an ambassador of the charity Little People UK, which was co-founded by her parents.
Annabel and dad Warwick have even worked together in the past and have been promoting their current acting project together, in a fantasy series called Willow, which is streaming on Disney+.
Hollyoaks airs every weeknight at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and 7pm on E4.
