Following back-to-back tough losses to the Indiana Pacers and Utah Jazz, things didn’t get any easier for the Golden State Warriors on Saturday night.
After meeting in June to decide the 2022 championship, the Warriors welcomed the Eastern Conference-leading Boston Celtics to San Francisco’s Chase Center for their first regular season rematch of the NBA Finals.
Riding their two-game losing streak, the Warriors quickly got back on track behind Klay Thompson. The four-time champ fueled Golden State’s early lead with 12 points in the first quarter. Thompson showed no signs of slowing down as the Warriors snapped their losing streak with a win over the Celtics, 123-107.
Thompson tallied a game-high 34 points on 14-of-26 shooting from the field with four made triples, five rebounds, two assists and two steals in 36 minutes against the Celtics.
Steph Curry followed his fellow Splash Brother with 32 points on 12-of-21 shooting from the field with six made 3-pointers, seven assists and six rebounds in 38 minutes.
Jordan Poole added to Golden State’s backcourt barrage with 20 points on 5-of-16 shooting from the field with four assists and three rebounds in 32 minutes.
