Warriors’ Steve Kerr ejected before halftime vs. Grizzlies on Monday

Without players like Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green on the second leg of a back-to-back to end a five-game road swing, things got ugly for the Golden State Warriors quickly against the Memphis Grizzlies.

After a quiet first quarter from both sides, the Grizzlies found their rhythm on the way to surging to a 26 points lead over the Warriors before halftime on Monday. While Memphis heated up, the Warriors went cold, scoring only 37 points on 27.3% shooting from the field in the first half.

Before the halftime buzzer, Jordan Poole pushed the bucket for a layup attempt, but De’Anthony Melton set the ball away for a block as time expired. Steve Kerr furiously flew off the bench to argue a non-call. Kerr proceeded to get a pair of technicals and get ejected from the contest.

Battling a double-digit lead without three core players and their head coach, the Warriors couldn’t put together a second-half comeback against the Grizzlies on Monday.

Following a 123-95 loss, the Warriors have dropped three straight, including six of their last seven. Things won’t get any easier with the Western Conference-leading Phoenix Suns waiting to meet the Warriors on Wednesday at Chase Center.
