Warriors’ Stephen Curry Has Partially Torn Ligaments in Leg

The Warriors announced that star Stephen Curry will miss multiple weeks with partial tears to the superior tibiofibular ligaments and the interosseous membrane, as well as a contusion to his leg.

The ailment to Curry’s leg is expected to keep him out through the All-Star break in mid-February. He suffered the injury late in the third quarter of Saturday night’s win over the Mavericks when he collided with Dallas guard McKinley Wright IV’s knee when Curry was on defense.

Curry limped to the bench and then to the locker room. X-rays were negative at the arena, but the MRI on Sunday would reveal the extent of the injury.

This is the second time Curry has missed time this season. He was held out for 11 games in late December and early January with a left shoulder subluxation.

Following Saturday night’s victory, the Warriors sit in the No. 7 spot in the West with a 27–26 record on the season.
