Warriors Get Positive Injury Update on Steph Curry After Ankle Sprain

As the Golden State Warriors jockey for position in a crowded Western Conference race, they may soon have the services of their best player once again.

Warriors guard Stephen Curry has been cleared to resume on-court basketball activities, the team announced Tuesday afternoon ahead of its game against the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday.

Curry, 35, has been out since Thursday after spraining his ankle during Golden State’s 125–122 loss to the Chicago Bulls. The 10-time All-Star exited that game late and did not return.

Per the Warriors, Curry will work out in the Bay Area before joining the team ahead of its showdown with the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday—with Anthony Slater of The Athletic speculating he could potentially return then.

Golden State is currently 34–30 with 18 games to play—10th in the Western Conference and 3 1/2 games behind the sixth-place Phoenix Suns.

In 59 games this season, Curry is averaging 26.9 points, 4.4 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game.
