Mike Dunleavy will be shopping in the veteran minimum section of free agency as he looks to fill out the remaining spots on the Golden State Warriors roster. Finding veteran role players willing to take the minimum and spend most of the season on the bench is never easy. Yet, with the team’s current cap situation, it’s essential Dunleavy perfects his sales pitch.
One player who some Warriors fans believe could be attainable is Juan Toscano-Anderson, as discussed in a recent Reddit post. The former Golden State wing is an unrestricted free agent this summer and could be available for a minimum contract.
Toscano-Anderson spent three seasons with the Warriors between 2019 and 2022, playing in 139 regular-season games and producing 4.8 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.2 assists on 36.1% shooting from deep and 63% shooting from two-point range.

Bringing back a former fan favorite to comprise a deep bench role would likely appease the Warriors fan base. Furthermore, Toscano-Anderson could provide cover at both the shooting guard and small forward positions, giving Steve Kerr additional line-up flexibility throughout the regular season.
Golden State would still need to locate a backup big man, though. Currently, the Warriors don’t have a single player on their roster that’s taller than 6’9”. Such a lack of size will certainly cause some lineup issues if Dunleavy is unable to add a bigger body during the free agency period.
Fortunately, there are still some legitimate bigs available on the free agent market, including the recently waived Bol Bol, who would add size and shooting to Golden State’s bench rotation. For now, though, all we can do is wait and see how the Warriors look to navigate filling out the remainder of their roster.
