Warriors’ Draymond Green criticizes his own recent performances: ‘I’m playing terrible’

Sunday’s loss to the Washington Wizards marked the Golden State Warriors’ fifth loss in their last six games.

During a disappointing loss to the Wizards, Draymond Green recorded seven points on 2-of-6 shooting with six assists, five boards, three steals and three turnovers. Green also picked up a technical in the fourth quarter with the Warriors trailing by nine points. Green finished the contest with a -20 on the box score.

After the loss, Green provided a tough review of his recent play during his postgame interview. While clarifying he’s feeling healthy, Green didn’t hold back when it came to criticizing his recent performances during Golden State’s slide. The four-time NBA All-Star said he’s been playing “terrible.”

I feel terrible. I feel healthy. I feel terrible.

I’m playing terrible. I’ve never really been on a team that gets worse when I’m on the floor and that’s kind of where we are right now. Some things I can correct, some things will come with time. It kind of is what it is. We’re definitely worse with me on the floor right now. That’s for sure.

Since returning to the court from a significant injury absence, Green has played only six games. During that span, the 32-year-old forward is averaging 4.2 points on 33.3% shooting from the floor with 5.7 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 1.2 steals and 2.5 turnovers in 23.2 minutes per contest.

Green will have seven games down the stretch of the regular season before the Warriors will enter the postseason. To make a deep run through the playoffs, the Warriors will need to count on Green to bounce back to his signature form.
