SAN ANTONIO, Texas — With the majority of starters sitting out, a skeleton crew of Golden State Warriors will face the San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday.
On the back end of a back-to-back games, Steph Curry (toe), Klay Thompson (knee, Achilles management), Andrew Wiggins (knee), Otto Porter Jr. (foot) and Nemanja Bjelica (back) join Draymond Green, Andre Iguodala and James Wiseman on the injured list.
That leaves Kevon Looney as the only regular starter left to play in San Antonio. Jordan Poole, Jonathan Kuminga, Damion Lee, Moses Moody, Chris Chiozza, two-way player Quinndary Weatherspoon, Juan Toscano-Anderson and Gary Payton II are expected to suit up.
After a 40-point masterpiece against the Rockets on Monday, Curry will rest a sore toe and take his first day off since January 16 against the Minnesota Timberwolves. He's played eight straight games and will sit out for just a fifth game this season.
To manage wear and tear on his surgically repaired ACL and Achilles, Thompson does not play back-to-backs, sitting out for one game of the two. Thompson went 6-for-15 against Houston, but shot a frustrating 1-for-8 from beyond the arc.
After this Texas road trip, the Warriors will face the Sacramento Kings on Thursday with three off days to follow.
