Warriors’ Bob Myers set to speak with media on Tuesday

One of the major questions surrounding the Golden State Warriors offseason revolves around the future of Bob Myers. The Warriors’ longtime President of Basketball Operations is set to have his contract expire on June 30. Despite his contract nearing an end, the Warriors and Myers have yet to agree upon an extension. Multiple reports have indicated Myers may walk away from the franchise.

On Tuesday, the Warriors could get some clarity on Myers’ decision and future with Golden State. The four-time champion executive is expected to meet with the media for his end-of-season press conference on Tuesday at noon PT in San Francisco.

With the NBA draft approaching and the start of the offseason and free agency looming, Myers could reveal his plans for the future.

Myers has been with the Warriors in the front office since 2011 and is widely considered the architect of Golden State’s championship core. Myers oversaw the development and growth of players like Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green. Myers also helped orchestrate moves like hiring Steve Kerr, signing Andre Iguodala, trading for Andrew Wiggins, drafting Jordan Poole and recruiting Kevin Durant.

With Myers in the front office, the Warriors won four NBA championships along with appearing in nine postseasons.

If Myers’ time with the Warriors is coming to an end, Vice President of Basketball Operations and former player Mike Dunleavy Jr. is considered to be next in line to charge of Golden State’s front office.

Stay tuned at Warriors Wire for updates from Myers’ press conference on Tuesday.
