In the heart-stopping heights of Netflix's Warrior Nun, creator Simon Barry left us dangling on a cliff, teasing us with a tantalizing post-credits scene that was nearly served with an entirely different flavor. As chapter two faded away, we saw Beatrice making her farewells to the OCS, parting from a gallery of well-known faces. The glow of a divinium sword marks Ava's triumphant return from Reya's dimension - an iconic frame that almost didn't exist!
In an interesting chat with The OCS Newsletter, Barry raised the curtain on how the grand finale of Warrior Nun season 2 could have been a far more extensive affair. Beatrice, the Warrior Nun herself, was scripted to bid farewell to not just a few characters but a whole host of them. This expansive goodbye would have followed her through the corridors of the new OCS in what Barry describes as a 'grander and longer' sequence. A time-crunch decided the fate of this lingering scene. The shot was allowed to stay, but a little more time-wise.
This touching moment of Ava's departure into Reya's dimension, a healing trip post her life-threatening standoff against Adriel - and Beatrice's poignant goodbye, sets up an exciting new dynamic for a hopeful season 3. Barry enthusiastically mapped out the potentially perilous partnership of Ava and Reya, with Beatrice as the possible opposing force.
The future of Warrior Nun was presumed to unfold in a trilogy of epic cinematic adventures. However, these projected films are shrouded in mysterious uncertainty, with the one missing piece of the puzzle being Barry himself. The possibility of the upcoming Warrior Nun trilogy veering away from the narrative of the cancelled Netflix series still lingers in the air, meaning our last sight of Beatrice's shortened farewell might very well be just that - the last.
Under the guidance of the series' executive producer Dean English, the Warrior Nun trilogy is set to kickstart a whole universe of riveting movies and captivating TV shows. But, the fate of the trilogy, borne to life through a fan-based resurrection campaign, remains as unknowable as a prophecy. Will it win back the fervor and excitement the series once commanded?
In the rollercoaster ride that Warrior Nun has been, the Season 2 ending left an indelible impression. The fervor for Ava and Beatrice's heroic battles may not be dying down anytime soon, even if parts of the grand finale had to be cut. We've followed their story across time and dimensions, and we'll continue charting their course in whatever adventures lie ahead.

The tale centers around a teen orphan, who wakes up in a morgue only to discover a baffling artifact in her body. As the plot unfurls, she finds herself to be a part of an age-old order charged with warding off demons and the deputed Halo-Bearer with otherworldly superpowers.
