Warren Gatland started the first press conference of his second reign as Wales boss with a classy gesture to the outgoing Wayne Pivac.
Gatland faced the media for the first time hours after Pivac's departure was announced following an awful year of results.
And his first words were dedicated to Pivac, saying: "Firstly, before I say anything I want to recognise the human side of this. Wayne departing must have been tough and my thoughts go out to him and his family. I think it is important I recognise that and him being a good man with really good values."

WRU CEO Steve Phillips had earlier praised Pivac for how he conducted himself during a post-autumn review that resulted in the news of his sacking being delivered.
Pivac had earlier taken responsibility for the results of the team, saying: “I am obviously extremely sad to stand down from the role.
“It was a speedy review process post-Autumn Nations series as time is of the essence with the Six Nations fast approaching.
"Unfortunately, the results or performances this year were not all as we hoped. As a group we all take responsibility for that, but me in particular as head coach."
As for Gatland, he admitted he was putting his Wales legacy on the line and knows exactly what the expectations will be from the public.
"With myself coming back to Wales, I suppose when Steve contacted me after the review and sounded me out, it was a thought process talking to family," he said. "I know it’s a pressure job but the buzz of rugby and being involved in the Six Nations and World Cup was the tempting factor. I loved my time here and I wouldn’t have stayed as long if I hadn’t been so well-received. We had some success, but also some disappointment. I hope I can create an environment where we can service the expectations of the public."
