A warning has been issued to homeowners in one Merseyside area.
Officers could be knocking on the doors of people living in Bootle and surrounding areas after an increase in the number of burglaries reported in the last few weeks. Merseyside Police are now looking for CCTV or doorbell footage to try and find the offenders.
According to police, people whose homes have been targeted said suspects have tried to break into homes by checking door handles or forcing front doors. They then quickly take any items that are easily accessible if entry is gained.

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: "If you have any CCTV or doorbell footage of people trying your doors, climbing through your garden or anything else suspicious then please get in touch. It is essential we have as much information as possible to identify and detain offenders.
"If you see any similar incidents occurring please contact 999 immediately." People can also submit CCTV and footage here.
