Warning to holidaymakers as train line to Manchester Airport blocked due to points failure

Holidaymakers are being warned of delays as trains to Manchester Airport are blocked due to a points failure. Services running between Piccadilly and the terminals are currently suspended.

Northern Rail have advised travellers that services running between the stations may be cancelled or delayed. There is no indication about when the issue might be resolved.

Passengers are being advised to seek alternative travel, with tickets being accepted between Manchester city centre and Manchester Airport on Metrolink services.
