Brits have been urged to stay away from 83 of the nation's beaches due to sewage flowing into the seas - including a number of bay's of the North East.
It's bad news for residents along the North East coast in particular, with 15 popular beaches affected by the problem reported by swimming charity Surfers Against Sewage (SAS), and comes after heavy rainfall as of recent, causing waste water to discharge into the sea.
Areas of Northumberland, North Tyneside, County Durham and Teesside are all affected by the SAS warnings, although beaches at every corner of the United Kingdom have been hit.

Other popular tourist hotspots affected by warnings from the charity include Brighton, Blackpool and Scarborough - known for their stellar and thriving seaside resorts.
The charity have a monitor water quality in over 400 river and coastal locations, letting people know if it's safe to 'swim, surf, paddle or splash without the risk of getting sick'. They also have an interactive map on their website, here.
Northumberland's Spittal, Warkwort, Amble Links, Druiridge Bay and Blyth South are all affected by the alert, while North Tyneside have a warning in place for Tynemouth Cullercoats. County Durham on the other hand has seen alerts from the charity with regards to Seaham Hall Beach, Seaham Beach and Seaton Carew North.
In Teesside, Redcar Coatham, Granville and Stray are affected - with Marske Sands and Saltburn also reportedly seeing sewage in the sea. Here's a full list of UK beaches alerted by Surfers Against Sewage.
