A fake competition to win crates on Heineken by Father’s day is spreading on social media app WhatsApp like wildfire.
Heineken has issued a stark warning about the phishing scam that is targeting Father's Day.
The message received by the victim promotes the chance to enter the fake “Heineken Beer Father’s Day Contest 2022”.

The message is accompanied by a photograph of an 18 pack crate of Heineken and links to enter the fake competition.
Heineken shared the warning online and tweeted: “This is a scam, thank you for highlighting it to us”
Therefore, recipients of the scam are asked not to follow the instructions in it.
The scam tricks potential victims into visiting the phishing, spam, and malicious website, "tinyurl5 .ru", which steals personal information, and account credentials.
Online Threat alerts warn “if the link in the fake post is clicked, potential victims will be taken to the fraudulent website.
Consumer rights group Which? Issued advised in response to the viral scam and said:
“Always be suspicious of a message from an unknown number, no matter how tempting the offer may be.
“It’s always best to check a brand’s official website and social media to see if there’s any mention of the promotion.”
