Warning as items pulled from shelves at Asda, Aldi and Lidl

Shoppers are being warned over products that have been recalled over the past month. Safety fears have meant that several items have been pulled from shelves.

When recalls are announced, whatever the reason may be, the Food Standards Agency (FSA) issues details on what to do. That includes why a product is being recalled and how to deal with it if you've purchased an affected item.

Recent weeks have seen recalls of products sold in Asda, Aldi and Lidl. Customers shouldn't eat them. Instead, they can be returned for a refund, with no receipt needed to do so, reports the Liverpool ECHO.

Here's a round-up of recent recalls:

Aldi

Aldi is recalling Plant Menu Organic Super Firm Tofu because of a temperature control issue that could potentially spoil the product, which may be unsafe to eat.

Product details

  • Plant Menu Organic Super Firm Tofu
  • Pack size: 200 g
  • Use-by dates: April 13 2023 and April 14 2023

A full list of affected stores is available on the Aldi website product notices page. For further information visit help.aldi.co.uk or contact customer services on 0800 042 0800. The issue only affects products sold at a limited number of Aldi stores in the Midlands.
