Edinburgh City Council previously issued an urgent warning to drivers that their vehicles could be towed if they are found parked on roads closed for the Queen.
A silver Volkswagen Passat was pictured being lifted after it was left illegally parked outside the Eye Pavilion earlier today. The procession begins at 2.00pm with many die hard fans already camped out across the city.
Her Majesty tragically passed away aged 96 peacefully at Balmoral, a place she adored. Due to her death taking place in Scotland a number of protocols were put in place under Operation Unicorn.
As a part of Operation Unicorn, the council have already closed the main routes affected by the plans, with thousands expected to line the streets for her last journey later today.
Speaking regarding the closures, officials have warned Edinburgh drivers that any vehicles remaining on the affected streets will be 'removed', before being taken to the Edinburgh car pound.
In a statement, the council said: "If your vehicle is parked in a closed road, please move it to an alternative parking place or we will need to relocate it. Please check back regularly as we will update our road closure page with further details of which roads will be closing.
"A parking dispensation remains in place for residents parking permit holders to park in pay and display parking places within their own zone - provided these are not subject to a suspension. This will remain in place until further notice.
"If your vehicle is relocated, you can find out its exact location by calling Police Scotland on 101, or calling our Car Pound directly on 0131 672 1500.
"Parking enforcement will continue around the city centre. Poorly parked vehicles will be issued with a parking ticket and could be relocated, or removed to our Car Pound."
You can find all of the current road closures here.
