A pensioner was scammed in an Aldi car park. The OAP thought they were purchasing a real electrical item - however found that it was smashed and had missing parts.
A warning has been issued after reports of the incident in a car park of the Aldi store in Weddington, Nuneaton. The victim of the scam, who hasn’t been identified, was reportedly approached by two men, both aged in their 30s to 40s.
The two men had a small silver/grey van and were selling cheap TVs, phones, gadgets and other electrical items, reports Coventry Live. The victim purchased an item, which led to the men putting it into the car.

It was only when they got home that they found that while the box was well packed and had labels on, the item itself was smashed and had no parts to it.
It has prompted a plea for people to be on their guard - and not fall for 'too good to be true' scams. What's more, this is not the first time a scam like this has happened.
Last May, Atherstone and Coleshill police officers said they were received reports about fraudsters being in operation at Corley services on the M6 and also the M42 Tamworth Services. Prior to this, back in December 2019 a couple were conned by a fraudster at the Corley service station off the M6. They were duped into buying a TV, only to find out the box was empty.
