Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is a third-person shooter hack and slash game and the sequel to Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine, which was released in 2011. It is developed by Saber Interactive and published by Focus Entertainment for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows.
The player controls the character of Titus, who is returning from the previous game. Your goal here is to defend the Imperium.
The game can be played solo or with friends in multiplayer mode. You can likewise build your own space marine and play as your created character.
'Very Positive' Reviews on Steam
As of press time, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2's more than 67,000 user reviews on Steam are generally described as "Very Positive."
"I recently replayed Space Marine 1, and the sequel is a much better game," user Poss said in a Steam review. "The visuals, sound and feel are all spot on for a Space Marine fantasy."
"However, it doesn't quite achieve everything it sets out to, and its secondary modes fall short of other similar games," Poss added.
"TL;DR? Yes, I recommend this game, it's simple old school fun, some caveats here and there, regarding multiplayer, some epic shenanigans and, maybe replayability," user Mischief said in a separate review. "But if you want to have fun, it delivers."
4.5 Stars on Google Reviews
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is also garnering positive reviews over at Google Reviews, where it has a 4.5 star-rating as of press time.
"Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is nothing short of a triumph, seamlessly merging intense combat with a gripping narrative in a way that will captivate both long-time fans and newcomers alike," Google user Sadat Qureshi said in a review. "This latest installment in the Warhammer 40K universe sets a new standard for action-packed shooters with its impeccable blend of brutal melee combat, strategic gunplay, and stunning visuals."
"This team clearly had respect for the source material, the attention to detail around every corner is mind boggling," Google user Nicholas Lucas said in a separate review. "The character models, armors, environments, back drops, set pieces, boss fights, and combat is incredible."
