Are you sick of your desk job and willing to put your body on the line for science? Would you also like to earn $100k and travel the world? Then, boy, do we have the job for you.
Hangover medicine company (it’s a real thing) alc-eze are hiring for Australia’s first ever Chief Hangover Officer (CHO). The successful applicant will be responsible for travelling to Siciliy, Puerto Rico, Germany and Estonia to test some of the most out-there hangover remedies. We’re talking dried bull penis snacks, vodka-soaked socks, lemons under the armpits — you name it, and all in the good name of science. Warning: it doesn’t sound like a job for the faint-hearted. And while it’s definitely a publicity stunt, someone still has to get the job, right? And that person could be you.
We’ve seen a few stunt jobs like this before. Like when The Inspired Unemployed duo were hired as Chief Gummie Officers at Swisse or Troye Sivan part-timing as Smirnoff’s Chief Vibe Wrangler. At least with alc-eze, the role will actually require you to do some work.
How will the company compensate you for putting you through Jackass pranks? First, you’ll start at a base $100k salary per year pro-rata. Also, you could earn an extra $20k if your work can discover a new ingredient that gets added to the alc-eze formula. Flights will be fully compensated while trialling hangover cures since you’ll be travelling for the role. Plus, you’ll get a year’s supply of alc-eze and a LinkedIn-worthy C-Suite title without writing about B2B sales. That sounds like a win to me.
