A man was punched in the face in front of his children in an attack on a south London bus.

Police have launched an appeal for witnesses following the attack on the 156 bus near to Wandsworth Road on Saturday, June 26.

The 37-year-old victim and his girlfriend, who were travelling with their young children, told officers that a female suspect boarded the bus before attempting to get back off.

As the bus pulled away, she began to scream and kick the doors. This caused the children to become upset, and the victim asked her to calm down.

The woman confronted the victim before a man, who police believe to be known to the woman, punched the victim.

The woman also sprayed what is believed to be deodorant into the victim’s face.

Both of them got off at the next stop. The victim suffered minor facial injuries in the assault.

Detectives from the Met’s Roads and Transport Policing Command have released CCTV images of two people they need to identify and speak with in connection with the assault.
