Walz Takes Jab at Trump as Inauguration Is Moved Indoors: 'There's No Such Thing as Bad Weather'

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz took a jab at Donald Trump after the incoming president decided to move his inauguration indoors due to extreme cold, sharing a snowy photo of himself speaking outside.

The decision to relocate Trump's swearing-in ceremony to the Capitol Rotunda came as forecasts predicted record-low temperatures in Washington, D.C., with wind chills expected to make conditions potentially hazardous, AP News reported.

This marks the first indoor inauguration since Ronald Reagan's second term in 1985.

While Trump's team defended the safety-first decision, Governor Walz used the occasion to highlight Minnesotans' hardy relationship with cold weather, contrasting his outdoor resilience with Trump's decision to opt for an indoor venue.

"There's no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing," Walz wrote on X.

Trump's statement on Truth Social emphasized his concern for public safety, as the Capitol Rotunda will only accommodate dignitaries and VIP guests, leaving thousands of general attendees with altered viewing plans.
