A man was stabbed on a bus in south London on Friday evening, the Met Police has said.

Police officers were flagged down by a member of the public at around 6.30pm on Friday and found a 34-year-old man with stab wounds on a 148 bus on Walworth Road.

The London Ambulance Service and London Air Ambulance Service rushed to the scene and the victim was taken to hospital.

The Met Police said his injuries were not life-changing or life-threatening.

The force explained that no arrests have been made and detectives are appealing for witnesses following the stabbing.

Earlier this year, 14-year-old Kelyan Bokassa died on a Route 472 double-decker bus on Woolwich Church Road.

Two teenage boys, aged 15 and 16, have been charged with Kelyan’s murder. After a hearing in January, they were both remanded into custody.

A Met spokesperson told the Standard: “Detectives are appealing for witnesses following a stabbing on a 148 bus in Walworth.

“On Friday, 21 March police officers were flagged down by a member of the public and found a 34-year-old man with stab wounds at around 18:30hrs on Walworth Road, SE1.

“London Ambulance Service and London Air Ambulance Service attended. The man was taken to hospital. His injuries are neither life-changing nor life-threatening.
