A 23-year-old was gunned down in a residential road in east London at the weekend, it has been revealed - as police continue to hunt for his shooter.
Walthamstow MP Stella Creasy has condemned the “shocking act” and appealed for anyone with information to contact the police.
Officers and paramedics were called to Grove Road in Walthamstow at 11pm on Saturday, following reports of a man suffering gunshot wounds.
They found the 23-year-old victim on nearby Clarendon Road and he was taken to hospital.
His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
No arrests have yet been made in relation to the shooting.
Writing on Facebook the day after the incident, MP Stella Creasy said: “Walthamstow it’s my sad duty to report that we had a shooting in our community overnight.
“I urge you please do come forward if you can help catch those responsible for this shocking act. I also ask you also not to speculate on this chain about this incident out of respect for the victim and his friends and family.”
